you need to modify the setUpCameraOutputs method. Modify the following line

                        Arrays.asList(map.getOutputSizes(ImageFormat.JPEG)),
                        new CompareSizesByArea());

modified--->

largest =getFullScreenPreview(map.getOutputSizes(ImageFormat.JPEG),width,height);

mPreviewSize = chooseOptimalSize(map.getOutputSizes(SurfaceTexture.class),
                    rotatedPreviewWidth, rotatedPreviewHeight, maxPreviewWidth,
                    maxPreviewHeight, largest);
